Comfortable and Friendly Hotel in Kyoto

Oakwood Hotel Kyoto was great for our 3 night stay! The hotel staff was exceptionally friendly with greeting us, taking care of our bags, and answering any questions. The rooms were small but as was expected. The amenities in the room, such as an espresso maker, were appreciated. The location was great for being able to easily explore.

Wonderful

Very nice rooms, clean and modern. Temperature control in the room was good (even during hot summer).

Breakfast offering was a bit limited. Also, there was no fresh water I the lobby all the time, only during the mornings.

A great stay, comfortable clean and very good value, We would definitely stay again.

The location was just off a Main Street but was very quiet and convenient, lots of small coffee shops convenience stores and restaurants near by. The metro was a 150 metres away and the main shopping area was just over the main road.The beds were comfortable and probably the best bathroom and shower in our two week and 4 hotel stay in Japan. lots to like.

Our room faced a close by building so not a lot of natural light. Only one washing machine and dryer downstairs so led to a bit of a queue at times, most hotels we visited had 2 or 3. Breakfast has a lot of different food so there was a good choice but it wasn't great quality, we only stayed once and tried other places as there are so many to try. it wasn't bad at all but not the best we had experienced.

Great service and location

This is 3* hotel but it felt in many ways better then 4* hotels I have stayed in Japan. The receptionist supervisor was extremely helpful. The rooms are standard size but for Japan is good one. Location is superB. There are train stations not far from the hotel (under 10min walk) but mainly I walked everywhere. Near the hotel is a bakery (Shinshindo-Oike), which was good for morning coffee. Many restaurants, shops and Nishiki Market. You can use washing machine and dryer, which was very handy. Umbrellas were also available.
